Urban Group
The Urban Group was formed in 2020 and caters for both stills and film/video members - all TPS members are welcome.

The group meets in the the clubrooms in Howard Street at 7:30pm on the third Wednesday of the month (October to April).
Dates for group meetings in 2025-26 are:

  • Wed 15 Oct 25
  • Wed 19 Nov 25
  • Wed 21 Jan 26
  • Wed 18 Feb 26
  • Wed 18 Mar 26
  • Wed 15 Apr 26

Group meetings are structured around a monthly assignment to produce a limited number of images capable of being printed or a short film on themes of architecture, urban/city landscapes, aspects of urban life and people within the urban environment. The group discusses ideas and technical issues relating to the assignment and the results of the assignment are shared at the following meeting. Each member is encouraged to discuss their approach to the assignment and share what they learned. The idea is to support each other along the way, share knowledge and experience, improve our expertise, and build a personal portfolio of work. But most of all, the aim is to enjoy the assignments and have some fun.

For further information contact Alan Forster. The intention is for the group to be self-supporting with every member playing a full role in drawing up and reviewing assignments. Downloadable assignment planning sheets and current and previous assignments are available by clicking here.
