Urban Group

The Urban Group meets in our clubrooms in Howard Street at 7:30pm on the third Wednesday of the month (October to April).
 
All members of TPS - and visitors wanting to find out about TPS - are welcome to come along and see what goes on, even if you don't have any images to show.

Group meetings are based on a monthly assignment chosen by the group.  The aim is to produce a limited number of images of a resolution capable of being printed, or a very short film. The themes of the assignment are based on architecture, urban/city landscapes, aspects of urban life and people within the urban environment. The results of the assignment are shared at the following meeting and everyone is encouraged to discuss their approach to the assignment, what worked, what didn't work, and share what they learned.
 
Following each assignment everyone is invited to submit one or two of their images for inclusion in the Urban monthly zine showcasing the Group's work on the assignment.  Zines are currently sold for £3 and any profits go to TPS.
 
The intention is for the group to be self-supporting with every member playing a full role in drawing up and reviewing assignments. Downloadable assignment planning sheets and current and previous assignments are available by clicking here.
 
The group exists to support each other, share knowledge and experience, improve our expertise, and build a personal portfolio of work. But the most important thing is to enjoy the assignments and have fun!
